Capcom Throws a Hell of a Party!

It was cold outside, warm inside. There was food aplenty, booze, and games.

We have more footage from the event coming soon showing off some Street Fighter IV and Dark Void play as well, but we're having some host issues. Once they are resolved we'll have everything you want to see here.

If you are having any issues viewing the video with the flash player here, click here for a better view of the gig.

These Booth Were Made for Walking.

The meetings were longer on day two. The showroom floor was packed, like a Tokyo subway (at least in the movies). The hotdogs, unfortunately were still $8.50. I talked to some of the less-known companies on day two, in the hopes of showing you all some hidden gems of the tech world.

Who Knew Technology Required So Much Walking!

Whew!  What a day.  Nothing like 12 hours on your feet to make you realize how comfortable your couch is.

Here's the rundown of some interesting products I saw today at CES. Expect actual reviews from GTW of a number of these products over the next few months.

In no particular order, click the images for larger versions - all links will open in a new window/tab.

CES Coverage - CES Day 1 - Morning PDF Print E-mail

Reporting from the trenches, and I mean that.

The show opened at 9am and the show floor was packed at 9:01. Busy time here at CES and we're only 2 hours in.

I've talked to a number of vendors and manufacturers already, a lot of folks are suprisingly not showing anything new.

The best news I've heard this morning is from Sandisk about a 32GB Extreme IV CF card in the works, and they have new media players called Sansa® slot Radio™ player which uses a micro SD card loaded with 1000 songs for multiple stations. A very slick device that I will go more into detail on tonight.

Freestyle Audio has a new Waterproof/Shockproof MP3 player coming out this summer with a built-in antiglare screen. This things is really waterproof and submersable up to 10 feet! Even the headphones that come with it are waterproof. Great device for those extreme sports enthusiasts. Keep watching this site for a full review coming later this year. The player is due to be released this summer forr only $69.

I have about 5 minutes until lunch, if I don't get there in time I will have to starve - or pay $8.50 for a hotdog! Later all!

It's Wednesday January 07, 2009. The semi-first day of CES.

CES is not open to the public yet, really not open at all. Of course there was the Microsoft keynote this evening, I'm sure you're read all about that already. But, have you read about the show floor?

There was a LOT going on the show floor today. Ok Ok. It wasn't ready and what was going on was building. There were ladders EVERYWHERE, lots of shopping carts (!) and much noise. Lift trucks, fork lifts, rolled carpet, taped carpet, incomplete booths, and even a couple of booths were ready for business...well, almost.

Here are a few samples of what is to come, more information following tomorrow so stay tuned!
